Custom Microneedle Templates, Arrays and Masters
We design and manufacture custom microneedle templates, master molds and RTV silicone/PDMS arrays using ultra-high-resolution 3D printing processes.
Our service is intended for biomedical researchers, academic laboratories, pharmaceutical research groups, startups, and industrial R&D teams that require microneedle tooling based on their own geometry and experimental requirements.
We can manufacture:

Negative microneedle templates with cavities for casting positive microneedle arrays from hydrogels and other research formulations

All products can be customised within the practical limits of the selected geometry, material and manufacturing process.
Custom Microneedle Geometry
Microneedles can be produced in conical, pyramidal, obelisk-style and other custom geometries.
Needle height, base diameter or width, centre-to-centre pitch, array layout, pattern size and overall footprint can be adapted to your requirements. Positive and negative geometries are available.

Positive Microneedle Master Mold
A positive master has protruding microneedle features. It allows you to cast negative silicone or PDMS templates in your own laboratory.
Negative Microneedle Template
A negative template contains microneedle-shaped cavities. It can be used to cast positive microneedle arrays from your own research formulation, such as hydrogel. This is the most commonly requested product.
Positive Silicone or PDMS Array
We can also supply flexible silicone or PDMS arrays with protruding microneedle features for research, engineering evaluation and process development.
For clarity, every quotation and design approval identifies whether the supplied component is positive or negative.
Standard and Custom Designs
Researchers can start with one of our standard 600 µm designs available in our online store.
Our Microneedle Template 600 µm – PDMS Master Mold is a positive master with protruding microneedle features. You can use it to produce negative silicone or PDMS casting templates.
Our Microneedle Patch Template – Silicone / PDMS is a negative template with microneedle-shaped cavities. It can be used to cast positive microneedle arrays from a customer-selected research formulation.
Custom designs can modify the needle shape, height, base dimensions, centre-to-centre pitch, array configuration, pattern size and overall footprint. Features such as an open reservoir can also be incorporated, subject to a manufacturability review.

Once we have all necessary information, we will provide a quotation and design for review. Once the quotation and final design are approved, we begin manufacturing. Typical manufacturing lead time is one to two weeks following design approval.
A one-time design and tooling fee may apply to new geometries. Exact repeat orders of an existing design do not require recreating the design.
Research Use Only
Our microneedle molds, masters, templates and silicone/PDMS arrays are supplied for laboratory research, engineering development and prototyping.
They are not supplied as sterile medical devices or as finished therapeutic, diagnostic, cosmetic or clinical microneedle patches. Material compatibility, processing conditions and performance in the intended application must be evaluated by the customer.
